The Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of Shenandoah Construction’s heavy equipment, construction vehicles, and fleet at our Phoenix, Arizona branch. This position will primarily work out of the Phoenix branch, maintaining equipment and vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and ready for operation. The mechanic may occasionally provide field service or respond to equipment repair needs at local project sites as required. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and DOT compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy construction vehicles and equipment at the Phoenix branch.
Perform occasional field repairs and service at local project sites as needed.
Maintain and service equipment used in trenchless construction, pipeline rehabilitation, and specialty civil projects.
Work on a variety of equipment, including Vactor trucks, CCTV trucks, light-duty trucks, generators, and light-duty trailers.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Maintain accurate service records and document repairs and parts usage.
Identify equipment issues and communicate repair needs, safety concerns, and recommendations to supervisors and project managers.
Ensure all work complies with safety, DOT, and company requirements.
Perform other duties as required.
