Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience with troubleshooting and repair on gas/diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmission/rear end, basic chassis/brakes, as well as fabrication skills (MIG and Arc welding/cutting). Requirements

  • At least two years of experience with troubleshooting and repair on gas/diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmission/rear end, basic chassis/brakes, as well as fabrication skills (MIG and Arc welding/cutting)
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes an extensive 10-year employment, criminal record, and residence background check
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds (32 kg) in confined spaces on a regular basis
  • Climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods
  • Work outside in all types of weather, around jet and machinery noises.
  • If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt response to equipment service requests to troubleshoot and repair vehicles & belt loaders (unleaded, diesel, and propane engines), lavatory service trucks, air conditioner carts, ground power units and more
  • Perform and track preventative maintenance for each piece of equipment
  • Work with station management to help control budget and order parts and supplies
  • Must possess the qualifications of the Ground Support Equipment Mechanic and have the ability to direct the workforce and provide practical training to the Ground Equipment Mechanic(s) assigned to him or her.
