About The Position

The Heavy Duty Cleaner works in the Engineering department at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort and reports to the Supervisor, EVS. The position cleans and maintains the appearance of casino public areas and restrooms to care for the facility and provide guests with a fresh, clean environment. The role requires operating floor and escalator-cleaning equipment, identifying areas needing maintenance or additional cleaning, contributing to team projects, and responding proactively to incidents and issues. The employee must follow applicable regulatory, departmental, and company policies and uphold Caesars Entertainment’s Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid North Carolina driver’s license. The posting specifies limits on DUI convictions, moving violations, traffic citation convictions, and certain suspension or at-fault accident convictions within the past three years.
Knowledge of floor machines and cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, shampoos, strippers, and waxes.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Neat, professional appearance and excellent personal hygiene.
Ability to work independently.
Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to maneuver throughout the casino and surrounding property; bend, reach, kneel, twist, grip, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds; respond to visual and aural cues; and work on ladders and lifts.
Ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations and tolerate varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.

Responsibilities

Vacuum carpeted areas.
Clean trash urns and ashtrays.
Sweep and mop tile, brick, concrete, and other hard surfaces.
Clean furniture, machine and chair bases, soiled fabrics, signage, and light fixtures.
Safely operate extractors, floor scrubbers, shampoo machines, polishing machines, special vacuum cleaners and scrubbers, and escalator-cleaning equipment.
Identify property areas requiring maintenance or cleanliness attention.
Participate in team projects, committees, and task forces and provide input and suggestions.
Proactively address incidents and issues and ensure resolution with employees.
Follow regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures ethically.
