About The Position

Pero Transport, LLC is seeking a Heavy Diesel Transportation Mechanic to perform a variety of repairs on the company's fleet of commercial trucks and trailers. This role is crucial for ensuring the on-time and efficient deliveries that are central to Pero Transport's commitment to world-class customer service. The Heavy-Duty Truck Technician will report directly to the Fleet Manager and will be responsible for maintaining the mechanical integrity of the fleet.

Requirements

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic (heavy-duty preferred).
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
Physical ability to lift to 75 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Technical school or vocational training preferred.
CDL license preferred (or ability to obtain).
ASE Certification(s) or manufacturer-specific training a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trucks and trailers.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, tire repairs, and fluid checks.
Conduct detailed inspections of engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and identify necessary repairs.
Perform welding, fabrication, and other mechanical tasks as required.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and maintenance schedules.
Adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Respond to emergency roadside service calls when needed.
Stay current with new technology, tools, and repair techniques in the diesel and heavy equipment industry.
