About The Position

J. Banicki Construction (JBC) is looking for a Superintendent with experience in roadway earthwork and urban reconstruction. The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale roadway projects (e.g., $70 million), including grading, sub-grading, preparing long strips of roadway for construction, and excavation. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to safety policies, quality standards, and project schedules, and directly supervising jobsite crews and subcontractors.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of roadway superintendent or Foreperson work experience leading heavy equipment crews (e.g., grader, trackhoe, backhoe, loader, crane, etc.).
A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of roadway / highway construction.
A minimum of 10 years of roadway, earth work, road winding type projects.
A minimum of 10 years of DOT roadway projects.
Four or more years related experience and/or training; or a bachelor degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ to 7 years experience
Minimum Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

Understand, enforce, and carry out Banicki Safety Policies.
Create Job Hazard Analysis for assigned tasks and perform safety inspections.
Read and understand plans, specifications, and local building codes.
Schedules and documents all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
Comply with Dust Control, SWPPP, and environmental requirements.
Complete daily reports including employee hours, quantities completed, and daily diary.
Read and understand project baseline schedules and generate three-week construction schedules weekly.
Schedule and order materials, inspections, equipment, and work force to meet project schedules, productions, and specifications.
Directly supervise jobsite crews to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules.
Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including a basic understanding of equipment limits and design purposes.
Manage all day-to-day operations on the project and keep the project management team apprised.
