About The Position

Bauman Landscape and Construction is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Project Engineer to help take ownership of construction projects from planning through completion. Since 1977, Bauman has built a strong reputation throughout Northern California as a family-owned general engineering contractor specializing in earthwork, concrete, underground utilities, landscape& irrigation and site development. This role is ideal for a project engineer who wants to learn and grow in the construction industry and understand field operations. This role would help with documentation including submittals and RFI's, daily record keeping, help prepare schedules, prepare PO's and order materials, communicate with superintendents and clients,and project closeout. You'll have responsibility for real project outcomes and work closely with both field leadership and company management to deliver quality work safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in construction project management, project engineering, or a related construction management role
  • Experience with heavy civil, sitework, grading, underground utilities, concrete, demolition, or general engineering construction is strongly preferred
  • General understanding of construction operations and project sequencing
  • Comfortable working closely with field superintendents and crews
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Resourceful, accountable, and focused on getting projects across the finish line
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and related Office applications
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Positive attitude and a team-oriented approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HCSS, Procore, or similar construction management systems is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Help manage construction projects from initial planning through final completion and closeout
  • Help the Project Manager develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and key milestones
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents and field teams to keep work progressing
  • Order and coordinate materials, alongside the PM, equipment, subcontractors, and other project resources
  • Maintain communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Review plans, specifications, project requirements, and construction documentation
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, correspondence, and documentation
  • Use HCSS, Procore, Microsoft Office, and related construction software to manage project information
  • Perform Daily's for the various projects
