About The Position

The Heavy Assembler transports components and related materials to the assembly station, arranges them for assembly, and interprets blueprints to determine the proper assembly sequence and method. The role assembles components and tests assemblies when applicable to blueprint specifications using a variety of hand tools and equipment. It also involves adjusting and testing assemblies, occasionally tack welding, documenting time and completing associated paperwork, and moving finished assemblies to the holding area for inspection and stock placement. The assembler is responsible for keeping the work area clean, orderly, and safe. The position is for the 2nd shift in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

Requirements

Knowledge of and experience reading blueprints.
Experience in mechanical assembly.
Ability to lift heavy materials.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with coworkers and management.
Proficiency with measuring tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of using computers to enter and retrieve information.
Ability to pass a forklift test and operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Demonstrated knowledge of lifting devices and capacities, including jibs and gantry bridge cranes.

Responsibilities

Transport components and associated materials to the assembly station and arrange them for assembly.

Adjust and test assemblies.
Perform tack welding occasionally.
Document time and complete associated paperwork.
Transport finished assemblies to the holding area for inspection and stock placement.
Keep the work area clean, orderly, and safe.
Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts after passing the forklift test.
Use lifting devices, including jibs and gantry bridge cranes, with knowledge of their capacities.
