About The Position

Controlled Combustion is the leading heating contractor in NYC, serving diverse industries such as luxury apartments, hospitals, and universities. With over 150 employees, we are seeking motivated, dependable, and career-minded individuals to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or advance a career in the heating, HVAC, plumbing, and building services industry. We value technical training, professionalism, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. Many of our roles are in-person, requiring travel to our Bronx office and NYC job sites. Hybrid or remote work is not available for field and operations-based positions.

Requirements

  • Recent trade school graduate or candidate with related vocational training
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Comfortable performing hands-on physical work
  • Interest in building a long-term career in HVAC, plumbing, heating, or building operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to commute to Bronx, NY 10458
  • Ability to travel to NYC job sites as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school training through APEX, Lincoln Technical Institute or a similar vocational program
  • Exposure to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, maintenance, or building systems
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Any hands-on internship, apprenticeship, warehouse, or field experience is a plus
  • Trade school education or relevant technical training preferred
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Prior experience in heating, HVAC, plumbing, construction, warehouse, or maintenance work is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with HVAC, plumbing, heating, and maintenance-related work
  • Supporting field technicians, mechanics, and project teams on job sites
  • Receiving, organizing, and preparing tools, materials, and equipment
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Following company safety procedures and industry best practices
  • Communicating with supervisors, coworkers, and office staff professionally
  • Completing assigned tasks accurately and on time
  • Supporting warehouse, operations, and service functions as needed
