This position is responsible for heat treating, age hardening, and performing conductivity testing on steel and aluminum aircraft parts. The role may involve assisting lower-grade operators. The job requires working from shop routers, specifications, and standard detailed instructions to plan and execute heat treating operations such as annealing, tempering, normalizing, and/or aging on a variety of aircraft parts. The operator will set up and operate heat treating equipment, select and position parts for treatment, maintain records, measure conductivity to ensure compliance with quality standards, and visually check gauges for temperature and atmospheric conditions. The role is responsible only for the individual's own work and may include other duties as required.
