This position requires specific knowledge of general heat treat requirements for aluminum, titanium, nickel-based alloys, stainless, and alloy steels. The role involves understanding Heat Treat scheduling to ensure the proper sequence for product through heat treating and familiarity with the operation, adjustment, and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers. Under the direction of an operator, the helper will batch loads for optimum productivity, interpret hardness ratings using measuring tools and standards, and place work pieces into heating furnaces for specified periods. Responsibilities include hardness testing using calibrated equipment, understanding company procedures and work instructions, and maintaining a safe and organized workstation. The role also involves being trained to set thermocouples, prepare loads for optimal heat distribution, unload furnaces, and be responsible for heat treat and process furnace accuracy and uniformity surveys. The ability to move parts on and off pallets is also required.
