About The Position

This role ensures that value-added services are applied to customer garments accurately, on time, and in accordance with Galls, LLC quality standards. The Heat Press Operator will set up, operate, and monitor heat press machines to apply transfers, vinyl, or other graphics to garments such as uniforms and other apparel. The position also involves performing other VAS-related functions as business needs dictate, including garment prep, sewing, emblem application, embroidery, auditing, engraving, garment cutting, or product research.

Requirements

High School Degree/Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read English and follow directions/complete order tickets
Experience in a variety of VAS/Tailor-shop functions
Basic Computer Skills with ability to learn new software to include GQ (internal order management system)
Good Manual Dexterity
Attention to Detail
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Ability to work under tight deadlines and perform quality work under deadline pressure
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for VAS
Must be able to sit or stand for the full shift as role dictates
Must be able to execute frequent bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, and squatting when completing production processes or moving product(s)

Responsibilities

Operate various machines including sewing, embroidery, engraving, and heat-press.
Ensure quality standards are achieved by thoroughly reading and executing a work instruction document (WID) to include correct product, size, quantity, color, service to be rendered, and placement locations.
Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunction.
Execute all job tasks consistently by following established standard operating procedures.
Identify and communicate delays or problems that might keep a specific job from being completed timely.
Maintain daily production requirements.
Audit finished value-added service against order ticket to assure order is complete and accurate.
Maintain clean and efficient work area.
Follow preventative maintenance procedures.
Comply with all safety standards for Production operation.
Maintain internal logs as required to include productivity logs.
Perform other tasks as needed to support business needs.
