About The Position

The Healthy Living Program Coach at the Oshkosh YMCA will be responsible for coaching various healthy living programs. These programs include Women on Weights, LIVESTRONG for cancer survivors, Rock Steady Boxing for individuals with Parkinson's Disease and Essential Tremors, Teen Strength and Cardio Classes, and Teaching Kitchen Programs. The role involves teaching resistance training, strength building, community engagement, combating disease symptoms through exercise, and nutrition education. The average hours per week are 4-8+, with a schedule primarily consisting of PM hours (3:30pm – 7:30pm) Monday-Thursday, and potential for AM and Friday/Weekend opportunities. The Oshkosh YMCA offers training and certification opportunities for specific programs.

Requirements

  • Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification

Responsibilities

  • Coach Women on Weights program, teaching resistance training.
  • Coach LIVESTRONG program for cancer survivors, focusing on strength and community.
  • Coach Rock Steady Boxing program for individuals with Parkinson's Disease and Essential Tremors.
  • Coach Teen Strength and Cardio Classes, including weight room training.
  • Run nutrition/food related programs in the Teaching Kitchen.
  • Adapt coaching to various program demographics, from seniors to kids.
  • Manage program schedules and commitments, which vary in length and time of day.
