About The Position

Snapscale is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Healthcare Virtual Assistant – Insurance Verification Specialist to support a US-based healthcare practice providing Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, and Personal Training services. This role will primarily focus on insurance verification and prior authorization processing for patients across multiple lines of business. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to consistently follow through on assigned tasks. You will help take insurance-related administrative work off the front office team's workload, allowing the clinic staff to focus more on patients and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, task-driven, dependable, and comfortable working with healthcare information and administrative systems. Accuracy and follow-through are critical to success in this position. This is a full-time, dedicated onsite position.

Requirements

Previous experience in insurance verification and/or prior authorization processing is preferred
Previous experience supporting a US-based healthcare, medical, physical therapy, chiropractic, or similar practice is an advantage
Strong understanding of insurance eligibility and benefits verification
Familiarity with prior authorization workflows and requirements
Experience working with patient records and healthcare documentation
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient and insurance information
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong follow-through and ability to track tasks until completion
Highly task-driven and able to consistently meet daily productivity expectations
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Comfortable working with EMR/EHR systems and other healthcare software
Proficient in using computers, email, and web-based applications
Able to learn and follow client-specific workflows and processes
Comfortable handling confidential patient and healthcare information
Able to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity
Must be dependable and consistent in completing assigned tasks
Must be willing to work onsite

Responsibilities

Perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification for patients
Process and submit prior authorization requests
Follow up on pending prior authorizations and insurance requests
Track authorization status and ensure required actions are completed
Review insurance information for accuracy and completeness
Document insurance verification and authorization details accurately
Update patient records and insurance information in the EMR
Maintain organized records of completed and pending insurance-related tasks
Assist with identifying missing or incomplete information needed for verification or authorization
Pull and prepare reports as requested
Perform administrative support related to insurance verification and prior authorization workflows
Coordinate with internal staff regarding insurance and authorization requirements
Follow established workflows, procedures, and quality standards
Complete assigned tasks within required timelines
Ensure proper follow-through on outstanding tasks and requests
Maintain confidentiality and properly handle protected health information (PHI)
