About The Position

The Senior Healthcare Supply Chain Analyst III (Information Technology/Clinical Information Systems) works with other Staritas team members on large projects related to healthcare information technology, systems, and software. Examples include pharmacy automation solutions, clinical decision support systems, laboratory information systems, enterprise imaging software solutions, artificial intelligence technologies, and other software-based solutions commonly used in healthcare environments. The Senior Analyst III works closely with healthcare facility clinicians, clinical engineers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and compare healthcare IT technology vendors and solutions. The Senior Analyst III plays a leading role in researching new and emerging IT technologies, tracking industry trends, and facilitating client engagement with Staritas product offerings. Using knowledge gained from research, experience, and client feedback, the Senior Analyst III also recommends topics for new Staritas reports and initiatives to assist Staritas members. As a member of the Staritas Global Supply Chain Solutions team, the Senior Analyst III plays a major role in charting the direction of the team with a focus on the evolving Information Technology needs of Staritas member organizations.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a healthcare facility related to medical equipment or technology, supply chain, procurement, data analytics, healthcare IT systems assessment, selection, procurement, and installation, or a related clinical advisory role.
  • High-level familiarity with clinical and healthcare IT systems and software applications, clinical workflows, and terminology in the healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration.
  • Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical specifications.
  • Ability to conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in healthcare IT procurement, healthcare IT systems, and related devices and software.
  • Knowledge of database management, data integration, and data analytics tools.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and select vendors for healthcare IT solutions and conduct thorough assessments of vendor capabilities and offerings.
  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities for multiple simultaneous tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong customer service, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to think analytically.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, healthcare information management (HIM), health informatics, business, life sciences, health policy, mathematics, supply chain/procurement, or a related field preferred.
  • A clinical background is preferred to understand clinical workflows and challenges.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or certifications in clinical informatics or business applications preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies purchase, lease/rental, and service contract pricing benchmarks related IT systems and services, using Staritas' internal database applications.
  • Analyzes information technology price quotations for equipment and software from a financial perspective and provides hospitals with information and resources to facilitate price negotiations with vendors.
  • Researches new and emerging IT hardware, software, and services, and provides information on technical specifications, pricing, and safety.
  • Provides updates to Staritas' product catalog system to ensure that all models, catalog numbers, and vendor listings are accurate.
  • Analyzes IT systems interest and utilization trends in healthcare facilities to identify opportunities for optimization that may result in cost savings.
  • Recommends topics for new Market Intelligence reports that can assist Staritas members; Works with the Staritas Data Management and Insights group to draft new reports and suggest vendors and models for inclusion.
  • Reviews reports from other Staritas technology groups (e.g., market intelligence, pricing, technical specification comparisons) and provides recommendations to assure accuracy and clarity.
  • Assists Staritas member facilities with IT capital equipment planning and budgeting projects.
  • Surveys client requests and feedback to identify trends, deficits, etc. Proactively encourages the use of Staritas services to clients in correlation with other requests when opportunities present themselves.
  • Assists with Sourcing projects to help create Request for Proposal (RFP) templates, analyze vendor responses, and provide purchase recommendations.
  • Trains new analysts on departmental procedures, database applications, and reporting functions.
  • Attends trade shows and conferences relevant to the field for professional development.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues across departments in the organization.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by keeping them informed of project status and key developments. Work with clients to understand the problem that needs to be solved, recommend appropriate solutions, and help execute the agreed-upon plan to achieve their goals.
  • Ability to anticipate internal workload needs with the help of their technology lead and to plan accordingly, in order to meet deadlines.
