About The Position
Provides clinical services to patients, including immunizations and medication therapy management (MTM) interventions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. The pharmacist supports a positive patient experience by engaging patients, addressing questions and concerns, and promoting awareness of Walgreens healthcare services. The role also ensures Good Faith Dispensing policy elements are applied alongside state and federal controlled substance laws when filling prescriptions, and maintains current pharmacy knowledge, credentials, and required training.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a pharmacist degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
- Certified immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Engage patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly.
- Model and share patient-service best practices, including courtesy, empathy, inclusivity, and proactive assistance.
- Anticipate patient needs and promote Walgreens healthcare services, including consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes services.
- Provide clinical services such as immunizations and MTM interventions in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure Good Faith Dispensing policy elements are followed in conjunction with state and federal controlled substance laws when filling prescriptions.
- Maintain current knowledge and required licensing, credentialing, and certifications for providing clinical services.
- Keep pharmacy and healthcare knowledge current through relevant journals, company publications, and communications, and pursue best practices that enhance performance.
- Complete required certifications, continuing education credits, training, and company learning modules.
