The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers. Responsibilities

  • Monitor entrances, exits, and overall facility activity
  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a professional, helpful manner
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols to deter and detect safety or security issues
  • Enforce facility rules, regulations, and access control policies
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations according to site procedures
  • Complete clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
  • Report safety hazards, security risks, and unusual conditions promptly
  • Monitor access to the Emergency Department, including waiting areas, treatment areas, and ambulance bays
  • Support ED staff with managing high-stress situations, including upset or disruptive visitors or patients
  • Assist with visitor management, including check-in, screening, and enforcing visitation rules
  • Help maintain order in waiting areas, ensuring safe occupancy and clear egress routes
  • Assist clinical staff with patient watch/observation duties when requested and allowed by policy (non-clinical support only)
  • Support lockdowns or restricted access situations in the ED when required
  • Coordinate with hospital staff and, when needed, local law enforcement or emergency responders
  • Help protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions
