About The Position

Paladin Security is seeking a dedicated and professional Healthcare Security Guard to join our team in High Prairie, AB. As a key member of a national leader in security services, you will play an essential role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position requires strong communication skills, sound decision-making abilities, and a proactive approach to safety and emergency response.

Requirements

• Must live within 30 minutes of High Prairie
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 1–5 accepted)
• Own reliable vehicle
• Full availability, including overnight shifts and weekends
• Ability to obtain an Alberta Security License
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to write detailed reports and maintain site logs
• Ability to make immediate decisions and remain composed in emergencies
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to work under pressure
• Physically capable of walking 18–20 km per shift and climbing stairs
• Must be willing to travel between 400-500 km regularly (mileage, hotels, and per diem will be provided accordingly, speak to People & Culture team for details)

Responsibilities

• Apply strong decision-making and communication skills in all security and safety duties
• Ensure all safety and emergency procedures are followed
• Follow site-specific Post Orders and complete required training
• Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at access points
• Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a motor vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security
• Monitor for safety hazards, infractions, and irregularities
• Report security breaches, facility hazards, and emergency situations
• Provide assistance and support to individuals in need
• Contact emergency responders (police, fire, ambulance) when required
• Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information
• Respond to inquiries professionally and appropriately
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications
• Promote workplace safety and demonstrate professionalism and integrity
• Support and motivate team members
