The Clinical Trial Abundance Initiative is a new, founder-led effort backed by a coalition of leading science philanthropies, aiming to reform federal policy and law governing clinical trials to make them faster, cheaper, and simpler. The initiative focuses on the 2027 reauthorization of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) as a key opportunity for reform. This role is a founding leadership position, working closely with the Chief Science Officer to build the effort from the ground up. The work involves shaping legislative and regulatory reform agendas, driving them into the PDUFA 2027 window and its implementation, and building a durable coalition of stakeholders to sustain the work beyond this legislative moment. The focus is on reforming the system that governs clinical trials to increase their abundance, speed, and affordability, rather than on operations, access, diversity, inclusion, or equity.
