About The Position
Kaya by Chemin Sdn Bhd is seeking medical professionals and individuals with healthcare knowledge for a remote Medical Transcription Project. This project supports the development of AI language systems by transcribing Cantonese-English healthcare conversations. The role involves listening to recordings with natural Cantonese-English code-switching and English medical terminology, requiring accurate transcription and identification of terms. The company is looking for individuals fluent in Cantonese, familiar with the Hong Kong accent, and comfortable with Cantonese-English code-switching. Detail-oriented individuals comfortable with audio work and interested in healthcare AI are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to write in Traditional Chinese
- Comfortable understanding Cantonese-English code-switching, including English medical terminology
- Fluent in English for project communication and understanding project guidelines
- Medical student, allied health professional, medical interpreter, medical transcriptionist, healthcare worker, or have equivalent familiarity with healthcare terminology and clinical conversations
- Familiar with using a Cantonese Jyutping keyboard
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain at least 95% transcription accuracy
- Access to a laptop or desktop computer, headset, and a stable internet connection
Nice To Haves
- Familiar with the Hong Kong Cantonese accent
- Candidates based in Hong Kong are strongly encouraged to apply
- Previous experience in medical transcription, transcription, audio annotation, data labelling, linguistics, or AI-related projects
Responsibilities
- Listen to Cantonese-English healthcare audio recordings and transcribe them accurately
- Segment audio into natural speech units
- Identify and label speakers when multiple voices are present
- Add simple annotations (such as gender, age group, and emotion)
- Review and validate transcription quality through Quality Control (QC) tasks, if assigned
- Follow project guidelines to maintain high-quality outputs
- Communicate with the Project Manager when clarification is needed
- Complete assigned tasks within the project timeline
