About The Position

Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Healthcare & Medical Malpractice Practice in its New York, NY office. The firm represents a wide range of healthcare providers, including hospitals, physicians, nurses, therapists, counselors, pharmacists, dentists, and clinics, in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. The practice handles medical malpractice actions across numerous specialties such as obstetrics, emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology, general practice, pulmonary medicine, nursing, orthopedics, neurology, oncology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, genetics testing, radiology, dentistry, and podiatry. With over 200 attorneys, it is one of the largest healthcare practices in the country.

Requirements

Admitted to practice in New York.
One (1) to seven (7) years of experience representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.
Strong background in medical malpractice and general liability defense.
Strong writing skills.
Strong analytical abilities.
Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be prepared to submit writing samples, including a redacted motion and a redacted report to a client.

Nice To Haves

Admission to the Connecticut Bar.
Experience defending and litigating medical malpractice lawsuits.

Responsibilities
