About The Position

Frier Levitt, a national boutique law firm exclusively focused on Healthcare and Life Sciences, is seeking an experienced, high-level Healthcare/Life Sciences Regulatory Partner to join its robust and expanding regulatory practice group. The firm has a national presence and offices in Pine Brook, New Jersey, and New York City. The Partner will serve as a subject matter expert across a wide range of healthcare compliance matters, including researching, analyzing, and drafting memoranda related to complex Healthcare and Life Sciences arrangements. The role involves evaluating business practices for regulatory compliance, recommending risk mitigation, preparing change of ownership filings, and communicating effectively with clients. The position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative legal team on high-level matters, with support for billing, marketing, and administrative tasks. The firm also provides a platform for entrepreneurial-minded attorneys to grow their business through extensive online content generation and lead dissemination. This role offers substantial salary progression, potential signing and origination bonuses, and upside potential for practice group and firm performance.

Requirements

  • Licensed to Practice in any state.
  • 7+ years' experience practicing law.
  • $200K in portable business required.
  • Healthcare, life sciences or pharmaceutical law background a must.
  • Experience with healthcare laws and regulations, including: Federal and state anti-kickback laws, Federal and state self-referral prohibitions, HPAA and patient privacy provisions, False Claims Act, Healthcare Fraud Statute.
  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent law school performance/credentials.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise with Stark Law, AKS and related federal laws and regulations.
  • Expertise with federal and state drug supply chain laws and regulations a plus.
  • Experience with state telehealth requirements and professional practice regulations a plus.
  • Experience with corporate practice of medicine prohibitions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across a wide range of healthcare compliance matters.
  • Research, analyze, and draft memoranda related to complex Healthcare and Life Sciences arrangements.
  • Evaluate existing and/or proposed business practices to identify regulatory compliance issues and recommend risk mitigation options.
  • Prepare change of ownership filings and other agency notifications related to Healthcare and Life Sciences licensees.
  • Communicate effectively with clients.
  • Mentor/lead a team.
