About The Position

Responsible for routine and preventive maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment, but not limited to: lighting, pneumatic tube system, kitchen equipment, life safety devices, door hardware, HVAC temperature control, sterilizers and scope washers. Utilizes computers to perform Computer Maintenance Management Program (CMMP) to receive, track and close-out work orders. Performs preventative and repair maintenance on but not limited to: refrigeration equipment, icemakers, freezers, ultra colds, refrigerators, Nurse call systems, R.O. equipment, terminal distribution units, modular cooling units, Hill-Rom Liko Lifts, Hydralic Dock lifts, Trash Compactors, plumbing systems and fixtures, medical gas systems, Lighting & electrical branch circuits and closets, water distribution systems, including secondary pumping systems. Interfaces with project management as necessary at the transition phase to the occupancy phase. Rotates on call schedule and or non-regular shift may be required. Responds to emergency situations that include fire, elevator entrapment, water leaks, and utility outages and works with Security, fire department, EVS and administration to coordinate the response to return to normal operation. Disposes of hazardous waste in appropriate receptacles. Ensure all work is done within compliance of the Infection control policy. Maintains all necessary all documentation and testing logs to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Federal and/or State requirements. The incumbent may drive a Mayo Clinic vehicle on a regular or occasional basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of three years of related preventative maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience; OR trade-related certification or license in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or mechanical required.
  • Basic understanding of Windows-based software.
  • Ability to utilize preventative maintenance program(s).
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize lock-out/tag-out and adhere to life safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and ability to take initiative, escalating issues as needed and appropriate.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and willingness to work as a team member.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospital or clinic facilities maintenance experience preferred.
