About The Position

BSI Consulting Services is seeking a motivated Healthcare Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Associate Consultant with experience in EHS consulting and/or corporate EHS program management. The role involves cultivating long-term client relationships and performing technical EHS work within the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, or patient care facilities, as well as consulting experience.

Requirements

  • BS in a related EHS, engineering or sciences related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with hospital health, safety and environmental programs.
  • Direct experience working in a hospital setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ASP/CSP Eligible.
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) highly desirable.
  • Medical degree – nursing, emergency medical technician (EMT), physical therapist/occupational therapist is a plus.
  • Certified to train First Aid / CPR / AED courses is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Developing strategic plans to implement and design written EHS programs and procedures specific to the Healthcare industry to include: Injury and Illness Prevention, Emergency Action Plan, Waste Management, Ergonomics, Workplace Violence, Biosafety, Hazardous Materials (chemical and biological), Radiation Safety, Controlled Substance, Safe Patient Handling, and Environment of Care.
  • Performing basic project management and internal customer management.
  • Conducting Job Hazard Analysis and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Assisting clients with Regulatory Inspections to include (Joint Commission, OSHA, CUPA, Medical Waste, Radiation, Controlled Substance, Fire Department, Storm Water, EPA, and BAAQMD).
  • Developing and delivering First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Response training, drills, and programs.
  • May supervise and/or mentor junior staff.

Benefits

  • The salary for this position can range from $84,800 - $110,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
