About The Position

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is seeking Healthcare Consultant Managers to support federal health agencies, specifically within the Department of Veterans Affairs. The role involves being part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on project management and support for mission-focused programs. The Healthcare Consultant Manager will act as the primary client contact, responsible for ensuring high-quality project deliverables, timeliness, staffing, quality standards, and reporting requirements. Key responsibilities include managing program start-up, stakeholder engagement, writing business cases, designing healthcare transformation pilots, developing program materials, and evaluating outcomes. Applicants must reside in the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus eleven (11) years of experience or master's degree and nine (9) years of relevant experience working on engagements in a consulting organization, health-related government entity, or within a large integrated health care delivery system.
  • PMP Certification is required
  • Experience with project management methods and tools.
  • Experience with consulting methodologies such as change management, process improvement, human-centered design, environmental/market analysis, and/or qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Ability to independently and effectively facilitate work groups of diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, accessible information for diverse audiences; strong writing skills and ability to develop business cases, operations manuals, presentation decks, and communications.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain public trust.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Public Health or related discipline.
  • PMP, Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, SAFe Agile, or other certification.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or large health systems.
  • Experience designing and developing new programs and interventions for health care improvement.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience with managing the lifecycle of a health care pilot.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully lead full lifecycle project management activities to implement Veteran-focused programs.
  • Effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinical staff from program coordinators to senior executives, to design clinical interventions.
  • Perform current state analyses and create journey maps to illustrate future state proposals.
  • Conduct industry research (primary and secondary) to understand leading clinical practices.
  • Analyze existing practices and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead the development of high-visibility deliverables and program artifacts, including business cases, change and communications plans, operations manuals, and evaluation plans.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control plans, and operational workflows to enhance consistency and quality.
  • Assist in defining models for measurement and data-driven decision making.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful execution.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as response rates, data quality, and operational effectiveness; implement improvements as needed.
  • Lead and manage project teams, including staff and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff and ensure effective integration into project teams.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation effectively, and ensure compliance with federal contract requirements, performance standards, and reporting expectations.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support long-term growth and business development efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client engagements, including follow-on work and task orders; collaborate with leadership on capture activities and contribute to proposals.
