About The Position

HCO Behavioral Health Services is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Healthcare Business Development & Community Outreach Specialist to help expand access to quality behavioral healthcare throughout Louisiana. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, building professional relationships, educating community partners, and creating new opportunities for growth. The primary responsibility of this role is to establish, develop, and maintain strategic referral partnerships that increase referrals for HCO's counseling, behavioral health, medication management, psychological assessments, and other behavioral health services. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-directed, entrepreneurial, and passionate about improving access to mental healthcare while helping healthcare providers, schools, employers, and community organizations connect individuals with the services they need. Success in this role is measured by your ability to build meaningful partnerships, expand HCO's referral network, and consistently generate new referral opportunities that contribute to the organization's continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic outreach initiatives to increase referrals throughout assigned service areas.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain referral relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships that result in sustained referral growth.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective referral partners.
  • Conduct regular in-person outreach visits, networking meetings, and follow-up communications.
  • Track outreach activities, referral sources, and business development efforts through CRM and reporting systems.
  • Identify new business opportunities that support HCO's continued growth.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with organizations including, but not limited to: Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), Pediatricians, Family Medicine Practices, Internal Medicine Providers, Hospitals & Emergency Departments, Psychiatric Hospitals, Behavioral Health Providers, Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Schools & School Counselors, Colleges & Universities, Community Mental Health Organizations, Nonprofit Organizations, Churches & Faith-Based Organizations, Substance Use Treatment Programs, Social Service Agencies, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), Insurance Case Managers, Attorneys, Juvenile Justice Programs, Probation & Court Programs, Child Advocacy Centers, Foster Care Agencies, Employers & Human Resource Departments, Community Organizations.
  • Professionally represent HCO Behavioral Health Services throughout the community.
  • Educate referral partners regarding HCO's services, referral process, insurance participation, and client eligibility.
  • Conduct presentations, Lunch & Learns, educational workshops, and networking events.
  • Attend healthcare conferences, professional meetings, and community events.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify strategic marketing and outreach opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with referral partners to strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Increase awareness of HCO's behavioral health services throughout assigned communities.
  • Support the continued growth of referrals for services including: Individual Counseling, Child & Adolescent Counseling, Family Counseling, Couples Counseling, Telehealth Counseling, Medication Management, Psychiatric Evaluations, Behavioral Health Assessments, Psychological Testing, Community Psychiatric Support & Treatment (CPST), Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), Employee Assistance & Wellness Programs, Faith-Based Counseling, School-Based Behavioral Health Services.
  • Optional Business Development Opportunities: Candidates who are interested may also have opportunities to assist with outreach and business development initiatives for affiliated organizations and related service lines, including healthcare consulting, community education, insurance and financial wellness education, and other approved initiatives. Participation in these additional opportunities is completely optional and may provide additional earning potential.
