Provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students using a case management approach. Assist students in defining personal and academic career goals, interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curriculum and pre-requisites, and developing basic skills to register for courses, as appropriate. The Academic Advisor will refer students to appropriate internal and external resources that foster student success. This position is housed in the Academic Advising Center, and is specified to serve those students in Health Sciences and/or Pre-Nursing. This is a grant funded position. The Perkins Grant Activity for this position is approved through 6/30/26, subject to annual review and approval of the grant budget. The college is securing funding for 2027. There is no guarantee of employment beyond this date; however, the grant is renewable based on the position’s success.
