About The Position

The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida is hiring a Full-Time Health & Wellness Specialist to support the healthy aging of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers. This role is suitable for recent graduates, experienced professionals, and retirees who are passionate about promoting healthy living among aging adults. The Health & Wellness Specialist will coordinate and implement Health and Wellness initiatives across AAASWFL's seven-county service area: Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee, and Sarasota. This role involves working with volunteer leaders and community sites to schedule evidence-based health promotion workshops, certifying in various evidence-based programs to lead classes, and supporting the fidelity of all implemented programs. The specialist will also collaborate with AAASWFL's Health & Wellness Coordinator for accurate service reporting of state-funded activities and will be a member of the agency's Outreach Team. Success in this role requires self-motivation, flexibility, and strong organization. The candidate should be comfortable facilitating workshops and presentations for various group sizes and possess sound public speaking skills. Travel throughout AAASWFL's seven-county service area is required. All AAASWFL employees must verify employment eligibility via Level II Background Screening.

Responsibilities
