About The Position

Peak Health, a subsidiary of McGriff, employs clinically-based lifestyle and behavior change programs led by registered nurses. These nurses provide health risk assessments, help employees navigate wellness offerings, and drive individual accountability through personalized coaching to help employers manage healthcare costs. Peak Health was founded in 1989 by two nurse practitioners and has over 35 years of experience in improving employee health behaviors, impacting over 100,000 participants. Peak Health is seeking a Traveling Health & Wellness Nurse Coach to cover various sites in Maryland, including Baltimore, Westminster, Frederick, Hagerstown, Elkridge, Columbia, Myersville, Bethesda, and Newark. The role is full-time, Monday-Friday, with no on-call duties or weekend work. Travel is limited to one site per day, and compensation is provided for daily travel mileage. Additional benefits include paid major holidays, access to free unlimited CE, reimbursement for CPR and Nurse Licensure, and a fully reimbursed certification as a health coach within 24 months of hire.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nursing License for state(s) in which they meet (call) program participants
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Working vehicle and current personal auto insurance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications
  • Excellent motivational and coaching skills
  • Sitting: Frequently (25% - 50% of the time)
  • Standing: Frequently (25% - 50% of the time)
  • Walking: Frequently (25% - 50% of the time)
  • Bending: Occasionally (Less than 25% of the time)
  • Lifting: Up to 75 lbs.
  • Visual / Audio / Speaking: Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.
  • Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding: Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
  • Availability: Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business needs.
  • Travel: Up to 100%

  • Must become a certified health coach within 24 months of hire (fully reimbursed)

Responsibilities

  • Travels to assigned client employment sites to provide health evaluations for participants.
  • Reviews individually completed Health History Questionnaires.
  • Reviews and interprets individual blood lab test results.
  • Obtains individual weight, blood pressure, pulse, body fat or body mass, and fitness level.
  • Establishes individual goals by making recommendations for improving the individual's health risk.
  • May conduct evaluations via teleconference when no site is available.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned by Nurse Manager.
