About The Position

The Health & Wellness Manager is responsible for delivering a high-quality, personalized wellness experience for Spanish Peaks Mountain Club members. This role leads the group fitness and wellness programming, provides individualized coaching sessions, and serves as a knowledgeable and welcoming presence within the wellness space. In addition to instruction and programming, this role supports daily operations by assisting members at the wellness desk, reservations, answering questions, coordinating wellness and fitness services, and ensuring a seamless, elevated experience. This position plays a key role in enhancing the overall lifestyle offering at SPMC through movement, recovery, and member engagement.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of experience in fitness, wellness, or related field (private club, resort, or boutique fitness preferred)
  • Current nationally recognized certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, NSCA, Yoga Alliance, or equivalent)
  • CPR/AED certification required
  • Experience leading group fitness classes and personal training sessions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a member-focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and deliver a variety of group fitness and wellness classes (e.g., strength, mobility, yoga, recovery, seasonal outdoor offerings)
  • Ensure classes are engaging, safe, and aligned with the SPMC member experience
  • Adapt programming to meet a wide range of member abilities and preferences
  • Continuously evolve offerings based on member feedback and participation trends
  • Provide one-on-one wellness sessions including personal training, mobility coaching, and recovery guidance
  • Build individualized programs tailored to member goals and fitness levels
  • Actively promote and grow personal training offerings within the membership
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions, goals, and progress
  • Serve as a primary point of contact at the wellness desk, greeting members and assisting with questions, bookings, and general inquiries
  • Educate members on available wellness services, classes, and offerings
  • Ensure the wellness space is welcoming, organized, and aligned with SPMC standards
  • Support scheduling, reservations, and communication related to wellness programming
  • Partner with the Director of Outdoor Pursuits & Wellness to develop and execute seasonal wellness programming
  • Assist with wellness events, workshops, and special programming
  • Maintain equipment, cleanliness, and safety standards within the fitness and wellness areas
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall member experience
