Fairview Hospital’s Parkview Terrace is a 36-bed complex medical care, stroke care and epilepsy monitoring nursing unit that promotes the delivery of high-quality patient care through teamwork, communication and collaboration. As a Health Unit Coordinator on our team, your daily responsibilities will include performing various administrative and clerical tasks to support the organization and flow of the department. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a customer service-related role
- Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework
Nice To Haves
- College degree
- Microsoft Office experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
- Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
- Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources.
- Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
- Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information.
- Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
