Requirements

• High School graduate
• Legible handwriting
• knowledge of medical terminology
• demonstrated organizational skill
• display of proper telephone etiquette
• ability to communicate with people in a tactful manner

Nice To Haves

• verifiable satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator course or equivalent previous on-the-job training preferred but not needed

Responsibilities

• Uses current technology to transcribe orders, maintain the integrity of the patient medical record, and gathers/enters and credits patient charges.
• Plans, organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions to facilitate workflow, enhance productivity
• Under the direction of the RN, demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the HUC role in the team delivery or patient care
• Performs clerical and reception duties
