About The Position

Cura Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our Cura of Monticello facility. As a Health Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the healthcare unit by managing communication, coordinating patient care activities, and supporting clinical staff. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Proficient in medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding healthcare environment.
Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Compassionate, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the unit.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or in a medical administrative role preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage communication and information flow between patients, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and updated patient records and unit documentation.
Schedule and coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures as required.
Answer and direct phone calls, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
Order supplies and maintain inventory in coordination with the business office manager.
Assist in creating a positive environment that supports patient care and staff efficiency.
Comply with all healthcare policies and procedures, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
