Caregivers in the Q5 Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) provide care to some of the most critically ill cardiovascular surgical patients in the country, such as patients receiving coronary artery bypass surgery, valve repair and replacements, aortic surgeries, and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, as well as patients that have undergone new and cutting edge robotic cardiac surgeries. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am—7:30pm or 11:00am—11:30pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
1 year of experience in a customer service-related role
Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework

Nice To Haves

College degree
Microsoft Office experience

Responsibilities

Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
