About The Position
UW Medical Center - Montlake/ Neonatal ICU has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Unit Coordinator. This position is part-time, working 0.75 FTE, with evening shifts on Mondays from 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. This is an on-site position with no telework. Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent AND One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR An equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Responsibilities
- Provide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communications, including answering phones and triaging call lights.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming and organized unit environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Work closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and discharges.
- Prepare and compile discharge packets to support timely and safe patient discharges.
- Coordinate transportation and appropriate paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing.
- Handle unit paperwork, including patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and other documentation.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and restock as needed.
- Utilize computer systems such as Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination.
- Partner with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
