This role is responsible for greeting patients and visitors, answering general inquiries, and scheduling appointments. The Health Unit Coordinator will also answer, screen, and route telephone calls, perform general clerical duties such as filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution, and create various reports and documents. This position involves communicating with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members about patient care, performing unit safety checks, and assisting with patient needs, escalating issues as appropriate. Additionally, the role may involve entering and maintaining timekeeping changes and staff schedules, and assisting with stocking supplies and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the unit and patient rooms.
