About The Position

Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Medical Surgical-Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Technician for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area. The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse. This unit is where patients receive active but short-term treatment for a server injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.
• Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.
• Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit.
• Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
• The HUC/PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.
