Harborview - 6EH ORTHOPEDICS has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-time Days & Evenings Health Unit Coordinator. The Health Unit Coordinator will provide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communications, including answering phones and triaging call lights. They will respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner, and assist in maintaining a welcoming and organized unit environment. The position involves working closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and discharges. Responsibilities include preparing and compiling discharge packets, coordinating transportation and paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing, and handling unit paperwork such as patient chart maintenance and consent forms. The role also requires maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment and restocking as needed, and utilizing computer systems like Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination. A key aspect of the role is partnering with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience
  • An equivalent combination of education/experience

Responsibilities
