About The Position

Wilson Health is seeking a direct hire Emergency Department Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Technician for our location in the Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area. This full-time position involves preparing and compiling records in the nursing unit of a hospital facility and providing essential patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The Emergency Department at Wilson Health has 14 cardiac monitored beds and has received national recognition for exceptionally quick treat release times for patients. The patient population includes young-middle aged adults and geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.
  • Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.
  • Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit.
  • Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
  • Provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.
