About The Position

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) will manage the clerical functions of the unit, perform at a professional level in the day-to-day operations, and provide support related to direct patient care. The role requires flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations. The individual will demonstrate the knowledge and ability to assist in the delivery of patient care, performing identified patient care tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse as reflected in established protocols and competencies. Responsibilities also include maintaining and increasing knowledge in the area of practice and demonstrating the minimum knowledge, skills, and ability to participate in care of age-specific populations. The position functions as part of a team to provide support to the Inpatient Care Unit environment.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license in Vermont
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • Completion of an approved course for Licensed Nursing Assistants
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to use a computer independently.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of clerical experience
  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
