A Health Technician is a classified support school personnel assigned to the health office or to a specific student demographic population with high acuity medical needs. They are assigned to meet the needs of these students during their daily school schedule. All work is performed under the direction of a Registered Nurse, according to the Idaho Nurse Practice Act. Routine work is carried out independently. A Health Technician must maintain and keep current their Medical Certification, CPR and First Aid certification. A Health Technician may be assigned to more than one school so travel between schools is necessary. A Health Technician is expected to attend paid in-services and training sessions.
