About The Position

The Health Technician plays a key role in supporting the daily health needs of students at AMS Power, administering medications in accordance with school policies, maintaining accurate health records, and partnering with staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy learning environment. This position also supports compliance initiatives, student screenings, reporting requirements, and campus health office operations.

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a school, pediatric, or clinical healthcare setting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a K–12 or Title I school environment
  • Experience with Arizona school health compliance and reporting requirements
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for students experiencing illness or injury and communicate with parents/guardians as needed.
  • Administer prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with school policy and state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including immunizations, screenings, medication logs, and office visit documentation.
  • Conduct vision and hearing screenings and complete required state reporting.
  • Create, maintain, and audit Arizona student health records to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized health office.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and coordinate timely ordering and restocking.
  • Assist with health office audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
  • Attend required campus meetings, professional development, and health trainings.
  • Support emergency response procedures and other campus health initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support school operations.
