About The Position

Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 2,000 students, located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. We are looking for high-energy and creative educators that will continue our collective focus on engaging all learners at high levels, while building students' foundations for the 21st century. We are an AVID Certified school and are also working with the Center for High School Success with a focus on ninth grade success. We are proud of our rich history, the variety of opportunities we offer to students to involve themselves in curricular and co-curricular activities that meet their unique interests, and our consistently high graduation rates. Plan and instruct a variety of Health and PE courses (grades 9-12). Collaborate with department, building, district, and community stakeholders. Communicate effectively with students, staff members and parents. This TEMPORARY position is 0.833 FTE for the remainder of the 2026/27 school year.

Requirements

  • Valid Oregon teaching license with an endorsement in Health
  • Enthusiasm for learning and implementing new strategies, including: AVID, WICOR, group work, culturally responsive teaching
  • Knowledge of high leverage instructional strategies
  • Ability to create a student-centered classroom
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each student and implement a variety of assessment strategies
  • Ability to provide a safe, culturally responsive learning environment
  • Knowledge of social and emotional needs of high school students

Responsibilities
