The Health Specialist provides administrative support in the Health area to staff in 0-5 Early Childhood programs. Monitors documentation of children’s health data and enters information in the data management system. Schedules health services for the children at the centers. The Health Specialist reports to the Director - Health, Wellness and Diverse Learners.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree Health Services, Social Services or related field required
  • Demonstrated experience with database management required
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and daily access to reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • experience maintaining health data a plus
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Schedules hearing, vision, and oral health screenings for children throughout the year.
  • Creates the schedule of annual health screenings and updates screening dates as needed.
  • Enters health data in the data management system for clients served, including physical exams, well baby check reports, hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, and oral health exams.
  • Completes monthly reports of services provided and scheduled for the sites.
  • Reports to the Family Support Services Supervisor regarding missing health documentation on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Works in collaboration with the nurse and nutrition consultants to schedule regular monitoring of children’s files.
