The position of the Health Services Representative in the Tuberculosis (TB) area and is responsible for providing support to the TB nurse case managers; providing Directly Observed Therapy (DOT); assisting with contact investigations and assisting with the identification of TB cases. This position requires the person to function independently as directed within the TB team. This position is at risk for exposure to Respiratory pathogens (Moderate Risk Level) and bloodborne pathogens under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and requires semi-annual TB assessment which may include a Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST)/an Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) test and/or chest x-ray; and is required to have up to date vaccinations for some vaccine-preventable diseases.
