About The Position

The Clinical Services Representative supports clinical staff by performing a variety of clerical duties that help maintain unit efficiency and deliver exceptional customer service to patients and visitors. This role follows established guidelines and procedures to complete tasks and operates under close supervision.

Requirements

Education - High School or equivalent
Special Skills - Communication, Customer Service, Computer Skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Able to use office equipment and multi-task.

Nice To Haves

Training - Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant Training preferred.
Cerner (CIS)
Licensure - Current BLS certification only required in mental health departments

Responsibilities

Assemble and maintain patient charts from admission through discharge.
Collect and file all printouts, run necessary reports, and provide requested data to physicians and nurses.
Order equipment and unit supplies while maintaining adequate inventory levels.
Accurately and promptly process patient orders, exam requests, and ancillary services such as X-rays, lab tests, and transportation.
Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Retrieve medications from the pneumatic tube system or pharmacy and deliver them to the nurse or secure location as directed by the nurse manager.
Assist nursing staff by retrieving medications from the pneumatic tube system and placing them in designated locations for administration.
Serve as a receptionist by greeting patients, directing visitors, and providing information to medical staff.
Answer phones using proper etiquette and respond to patient call lights promptly.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure office equipment is in working order.
Contact physicians for consults and notify nursing staff of scheduled consultations.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
