About The Position

The Health Services Coordinator organizes and attends one medical clinic every Tuesday evening in Lebanon, dental clinics intermittently on Friday mornings, and a farm clinic once per month in Philomath. They also spend 8-10 hours per week in the Corvallis office addressing program management and organization as well as patient coordination.

Requirements

  • Equivalent of two years post-secondary education.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and basic computer operations.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework in Health Care or Public Health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit local physicians, dentists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, office coordinators, health educators, and bilingual assistants to participate in weekly clinics or to accept referrals.
  • Train medical professional volunteers on clinic procedures including patient follow up, accessible treatment options, specialty referrals, imaging and lab referrals and clinic guidelines.
  • Train nurses, office coordinators, bilingual assistants and health educators to facilitate clinic operations.
  • Schedule clinics, including all volunteer staffing, and communicate with patients, volunteers, and the general public about clinic times and locations.
  • Manage and supervise each clinic while assisting volunteers and patients as needed.
  • Maintain patient files and communicate with patients regarding follow-up and all lab/imaging results.
  • Act as a liaison between the program and the medical, dental, and public health communities in Linn County, including hospitals, pharmacies, health departments, Western University of Health Sciences (D.O. school in Lebanon), and various clinics.
  • Advocate for patients with specialist, administrators, and other aid programs while coordinating referrals if appropriate.
  • Maintain adequate clinic supplies/equipment and clinic office supplies.
  • Collect and account for money received as donations for services.
  • Maintain statistics and records of services provided, clients serviced, and volunteer participation.
  • Aid the Health Services Director in enhancing programs and services when asked.
  • Collaborate with other local organization on projects as they arise.
  • Other duties as fit or assigned by supervisor.
