About The Position

Centurion is seeking a high-impact Health Services Administrator (HSA) to lead healthcare operations at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP), a critical intake, evaluation, and classification facility within the state system. This is a hands-on operational leadership role overseeing healthcare delivery in one of Georgia’s most complex correctional environments. GDCP serves as a central intake and diagnostic facility, requiring continuous coordination of medical, mental health, and classification processes for a high volume of incoming individuals. The HSA is responsible for ensuring timely evaluations, continuity of care, and operational efficiency across all services. You will lead daily operations across medical, dental, and behavioral health services while managing the demands of: High-volume intake and diagnostic processing Ongoing medical and mental health assessments Complex patient populations with varying acuity levels Rapid coordination between clinical teams and custody staff This role requires a leader who can manage constant movement, make real-time decisions, and maintain operational control in a high-demand, structured environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Health and Human Services, Business or Public Administration, Nursing, or a related field required
  • Proven progressive leadership experience in high-volume, high-acuity healthcare environments such as correctional health, large hospital systems, mental health facilities, or multi-site clinical operations
  • Demonstrated success managing complex operations under pressure, including staffing shortages, critical incidents, regulatory demands, and fast-paced decision-making
  • Strong operational leadership with hands-on experience in: Workforce management and staffing optimization in challenging environments Budget oversight and cost control in large-scale operations Regulatory compliance, audits, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ability to lead within a secure correctional environment, partnering effectively with custody staff, executive leadership, and state stakeholders
  • Confident, decisive communicator who can navigate high-stakes situations, drive accountability, and maintain structure across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, including drug screening and criminal background check

  • Correctional healthcare experience strongly preferred; candidates must be comfortable working in a high-security, high-demand facility

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing healthcare operations in a fast-paced intake and classification environment
  • Ensuring timely completion of initial screenings, assessments, and care plans
  • Managing staffing, scheduling, and workforce performance under fluctuating census demands
  • Driving compliance with GDC, NCCHC, and internal audit standards
  • Partnering directly with the Warden’s office, GDC Health Services, and Centurion leadership to resolve operational challenges
  • Maintaining continuity of care as individuals transition through intake and into long-term placement
  • Collaborate closely with regional leadership and provide consistent, proactive updates on operational performance, risks, and ongoing issues
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and maintain transparency to support timely decision-making at the regional level
