About The Position

The Health Screener welcomes patients and visitors to the hospital, checks them in through the visitor management system to determine their needs, and directs them to the attending physician or other locations throughout the hospital. The role provides information and directions while protecting patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements and organizational privacy policies. The Health Screener also supports patient satisfaction by anticipating family needs, addressing concerns before they escalate, and receiving suggestions or complaints for appropriate escalation. This position is at University Medical Center, part of LCMC Health.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent, or two years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Use the visitor management system to check in visitors, determine patient needs, and direct them to the attending physician.
• Welcome patients and visitors to the hospital.
• Provide patients and guests with information and directions to locations throughout the hospital.
• Provide patient information in compliance with HIPAA requirements and organizational privacy policies.
• Help improve patient satisfaction by anticipating family needs and resolving issues before they become major concerns.
• Receive guest suggestions and complaints and escalate them through proper channels.
