About The Position

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking two motivated Safety Professionals to support health and safety operations at a fabrication facility in Ruther Glen, VA. These roles are responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA general industry standards, promoting a proactive safety culture, and supporting injury prevention initiatives during second shift operations. The ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in industrial safety and the ability to engage effectively with frontline employees and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field with 2+ years of relevant industrial safety experience OR High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant industrial safety experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards (29 CFR 1910)
  • Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and safety training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work second shift (4 PM – 2 AM) consistently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement principles
  • Experience with behavior-based safety programs
  • Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA general industry regulations and company safety policies
  • Conduct routine floor audits, inspections, and behavioral observations to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices
  • Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and recommend corrective/preventive actions
  • Track and maintain OSHA recordkeeping (e.g., OSHA 300 logs, incident reports)
  • Deliver safety training for employees, including new hire orientation and job-specific hazard awareness
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement hazard controls and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for fabrication processes
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, engagement, and communication
