About The Position

The Health, Safety, Security & Environment Specialist plays a critical role in advancing JLL's commitment to workplace safety and regulatory excellence within highly regulated facilities. This position provides comprehensive support for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations through hands-on engagement in safety training, inspections, incident response, and hazard prevention. Partnering closely with Facilities Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHSS, and vendor teams, you'll help uphold JLL and client safety standards while driving a culture of continuous safety improvement. Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in EHS, industrial safety, maintenance safety, or related safety disciplines within regulated or industrial environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and demonstrated experience implementing core EHS program components including inspections, incident investigations, and hazard assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to deliver safety training, create documentation, and effectively engage diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, data tracking, and documentation management.
  • Physical capability to navigate facilities, climb ladders, wear required personal protective equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed for field inspections and safety activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated manufacturing or research environments with stringent safety and quality requirements.
  • Professional safety certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, CHST (Certified Health and Safety Technologist), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or equivalent credentials.
  • Working knowledge of specialized safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work systems, chemical safety management, and industrial hygiene principles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or managing contractor safety programs including training verification, permit management, and field oversight.
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems, incident tracking software, or safety data analytics tools used for program measurement and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and execution of comprehensive EHS programs including hazard assessments, job safety analysis, work permitting, PPE requirements, chemical safety, LOTO protocols, and contractor safety management, with strong emphasis on quality compliance and OSHA regulatory adherence.
  • Conduct routine facility safety inspections across laboratories, mechanical spaces, maintenance areas, and general facility zones; identify hazards or non-conformances, assist with corrective and preventive action planning, and maintain audit readiness documentation.
  • Deliver safety training programs for JLL staff, contractors, and vendors; maintain training records and qualification documentation; support onboarding safety orientations, competency development, and updates to safety SOPs and work instructions.
  • Assist with response to safety events, injuries, near misses, and chemical or environmental incidents; support root-cause analysis and development of corrective actions; track and report incident data, near misses, and EHS KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor safety compliance including verification of training credentials, permits, and JSA requirements; conduct field observations to ensure adherence to approved safety protocols; escalate safety concerns to leadership when necessary.
  • Participate in ergonomic reviews, safety improvement initiatives, hazard mitigation projects, and emergency response drills; support safety planning for facility shutdowns, outages, and high-risk maintenance activities to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, local regulations, JLL EHS requirements, and site-specific policies; support safety communication initiatives including alerts, toolbox talks, and site-wide safety campaigns.
